Weekend Pedestrian Zone in Downtown St. Catharines
On Friday and Saturday evenings, St. Paul Street (from William Street to Carlisle Street, and from Bond Street to Court Street) and James Street (from King Street to St. Paul Street) turn into a vehicle-free pedestrian zone to allow for expanded restaurant patios and outdoor shopping on sidewalks, while opening the roadway to pedestrian traffic. Share in our hometown spirit while practicing the recommended physical distancing measures.
Street closure hours are subject to change; check here weekly for confirmed hours. The temporary pedestrianization of downtown streets is scheduled to begin Friday June 18 and end Saturday October 9, 2021. Stay tuned for confirmation of dates and times, as provincial restrictions allow.
Fridays and Saturdays from 4:00pm to 10:00pm
We are hopeful that conditions will allow restaurants and bars to serve customers for outdoor and possibly indoor dining by early June 2021.
