St. Paul Street Reopens This Weekend

With the cooler fall weather upon us, and in consultation with our membership we will be pausing the weekend road closures, effective immediately. The weekend road closures on St. Paul Street created a pedestrian zone between William Street and Carlisle Street.

We thank our downtown community for their patience and support over the past four months while creative solutions were sought to bring business to Downtown St. Catharines. Our downtown restaurants were able to expand their patio spaces during the summer and early fall, offering safe and socially distanced outdoor dining spaces. The Downtown Association is also looking at doing future targeted road closures in anticipation of the holiday season and programming to support members. Plans are in progress; stay tuned for more information.

For those restaurants still offering outdoor patio dining, please refer to the updated temporary outdoor patio guidelines from the City of St. Catharines.

Curbside Pickup spots are available for free short-term (maximum of 15 minutes) parking for those picking up take-out orders or making quick shopping stops. The Curbside Pickup zones are located on St. Paul Street, William Street, Queen Street and James Street. Look for these signs:
