Welcome Oasis Bar & Lounge, a new cocktail bar and much-anticipated passion project for Tashinga Nyamuyaruka, co-owned by Fkadu Zeremeriam, the previous owner of O’Lounge.
Expect a new sign in the coming days and an official grand opening in April – but no need to wait; the doors are open – and we highly recommend stopping in to check out the new vibe at 108 St. Paul St.
Oasis Bar Lounge offers signature craft cocktails, mocktails, great music, and ambiance late into the night.
Tash knew early on that he wanted to own a business. Raised in Zimbabwe by entrepreneurs, he started working in a kitchen at 15.
In 2008 Tash moved to Montreal to pursue an education in economics. While there, he also began DJing and picked up a job that suited his experience at a trendy bar, Big in Japan. It was here, surrounded by some of the best mixologists in the industry, that ignited his passion for mixing cocktails. He became obsessed with learning as much as he could …and hasn’t stopped since. He worked his way up from barback to junior manager while DJing through the night.
As his interest expanded, Tash applied to Niagara College for the Brewing program, bringing him here in 2015. He continued DJing and started hosting a radio show with local CFBU. An opportunity arose to work with Bolete, a must-try restaurant in Downtown St. Catharines that allowed him to hone his craft over the next few years.
Tash’s cocktails were a hit, and seeing an opportunity to expand – he took a leap and started his own cocktail catering company, @allumetteon. He has also partnered with local businesses, including Dowtnown’s Archives Wine & Spirits, Dispatch Restaurant and Wandering Spirits.
Tash is excited to be a part of the diverse offerings Downtown. It is an ideal location being close to so many great things including 15 minutes from the best wineries in the country. He hopes to bring a big city flair to our Downtown. He loves working with fruit and using fresh produce and herbs in his drinks while aiming to be as close to zero waste as possible.
We are so excited to see Tashinga and Fkadu embark on this new business venture and encourage you to stop by soon!
Welcome Downtown!
