Avenue Ballroom is a new event space in Downtown St. Catharines, perfect for hosting celebratory occasions – including a one-of-a-kind pop-up wedding experience happening later this month!
A collaboration by Sharon Curley, owner of R & R Refinery, and Katie MacCabe, co-owner of Wandering Spirits, Avenue Ballroom opened earlier this year adding to the charm of Downtown.
With businesses on the same street, Katie & Sharon crossed paths and hit it off right away, bonding over their love for the neighbourhood, coffee, & shared entrepreneurial spirit. Katie & Sharon both grew up in St. Catharines, graduated from local post-secondary schools, & even attended the same middle school! They enjoy James Street for the sense of community & support the businesses provide one another.
When 7 James St. became available, the building seemed to speak for itself – the hardwood floors, high ceilings, chandeliers, & ornate features deserved to be appreciated by everyone, by utilizing it as an event space, it offers a unique opportunity to share it with others.
The name is a clever description of “A venue” that is a “ballroom”.
The multi-faceted space can hold 40 people & is ideal for parties, workshops & pop-ups. With an extensive network of local businesses, Katie & Sharon make sure your event has everything you need from entertainment, catering, & more!
