| Downtown St. Catharines Gift Cards It’s not too late to sign up for Gift Cards! We will be promoting the Downtown Gift Card on an ongoing basis, we encourage ALL businesses to sign up! Cards that will work anywhere Visa is accepted including restaurants, retail and service providers! THERE IS NO COST TO BECOME A PARTICIPATING BUSINESS! The Gift Card program operates as a Closed-Loop Visa network and as such merchants need to be registered to the program BEFORE they can accept the Gift Card. |

Social Media Policy
The purpose of the St. Catharines Downtown Association (SCDA) Digital Communications and Social Media Policy is to establish guidelines for the use of social media and other digital communications (e.g., email) within the organization. This includes the selection of channels, content-sharing practices, tone and voice, and response protocols. The strategy will be reviewed and updated annually to adapt to changes in the social networking landscape.

Feature Post
The role of a BIA is to promote the area as a whole and attract people to the Downtown. The SCDA tries its best to welcome and highlight all businesses in the Downtown Area. Reshares on Stories
BIA members must tag @DowntownStCatharines in their Instagram stories to be considered for sharing. Stories without tags will not be shared, with exceptions outlined below.
Frequency of Sharing
Each business can have their stories shared a maximum of 1-2 times per week to ensure balanced exposure.
Exceptions
Stories may be shared without tagging or more than 1-2 times a week for:
- Request outside of tagging: At times community members and businesses request reshares via alternate means such as email, phone calls, in-person, DM, etc.
- Important Updates: Time-sensitive information affecting the community.
- SCDA Marketing Posts: Official SCDA campaigns or promotions. Businesses that participate in SCDA events & promotions will likely be included in marketing efforts that may require additional shares at the discretion of the Marketing & Communications Director.
- Event Promotion: Stories related to events driving foot traffic downtown may qualify for a reshare even without a tag as a boost to promote the event.
- Collaborative Campaigns: Joint promotions involving multiple organizations may create a situation where a particular business may get extra shares without needing to tag so long as the represent, frequency will be monitored at the discretion of the Marketing & Communications Director.
- Seasonal Campaigns: High-traffic seasons may require extra exposure, ie Holiday promotions, gift guides, trending media, holiday hours, etc, may be curated at the discretion of the Marketing & Communications Director.
- Special Announcements: Major launches or changes.
