Downtown Summer Activations

Parts of St. Paul Street and James Street will be activated in the spring and summer of 2021. We invite all downtown businesses to join in and make plans with us so the entire downtown can benefit.

Downtown weekend pedestrian zone Pedestrian-only zone Fridays and Saturdays from 4:00pm to 10:00pm

Google Calendar Consult the Downtown Association’s calendar to see when and where activations are taking place. Downtown businesses are invited to make entries in the calendar. Please include place and date/time. e.g. The Downtown Cafe patio, live music with The Cool Cats (entered in the calendar on Saturday May 22 from 7pm to 9pm).

Temporary Outdoor Patios The City of St. Catharines has implemented processes to allow for increased and streamlined operations of temporary outdoor patios in 2021 while protecting public safety. The move will allow restaurant and bar operators, as well as retailers, to expand outdoor business areas to offset limitations on indoor dining under COVID-19 emergency orders. The program will continue in 2021, through to Jan. 1, 2022.
