Marketing Opportunities

Taste the World in STC (February/March 2021)

We invite Downtown St. Catharines restaurants, food service businesses and retailers to take part in an upcoming marketing campaign: Taste the World in STC. We have partnered with the City of St. Catharines to develop a campaign highlighting culinary and retail offerings. Please find below an explanatory letter from Karen Doyle, Tourism Marketing Officer, City of St. Catharines:

In December 2020, the City of St. Catharines Economic Development and Tourism Services (EDTS) team launched www.lovestc.ca, a website and digital platform designed to connect residents with St. Catharines local businesses.

LoveSTC was designed with the three key main goals and objectives;

  • create a St. Catharines (STC) brand that extends beyond COVID-19
  • increase brand awareness of St. Catharines and local businesses
  • develop an inclusive campaign that supports local businesses by attracting new partnerships and consumer participation.

Through loveSTC, the City of St. Catharines has partnered with the St. Catharines Downtown Association and independent businesses across the city to develop several programs highlighting culinary, craft beverage and retail. The programs will be themed into two categories; Taste the World in STC and the Hot Chocolate Trail. The objective is to drive traffic to your business, encourage consumers to engage with multiple businesses over a designated period of time and incentivizing those who do.

The programs will begin, Friday February 12 (Valentine’s Day and Family Day weekend) and will run through March Break and end Sunday, March 21.  A breakdown of each program and how you can participate is described the attached document.

There is no cost to you to participate. Both programs will have a robust, local marketing campaign to support. If you’d like to be involved please confirm with me no later than Friday, January 15, 2021.

Create a Stronger Online Presence

There are many ways to create a stronger online presence for your downtown business.

Digital Main Street is a program that is supported by key features that assist main street businesses as they adopt digital tools, technologies and services. Your business may be eligible for the Digital Transformation Grant Program, as well as the ShopHere program which can help with building and optimizing an online store.

Additional support opportunities are offered through InvestinSTC (City of St. Catharines, Economic Development).

By adding the following hashtags to your social media posts, you connect your posts to ours and others in our community, creating a stronger online presence and greater engagement for all of us.
