Julie Christiansen Counseling & Psychotherapy moves Downtown St. Catharines!

We are excited to welcome Julie Christiansen Counselling & Psychotherapy and her ‘Spa for the Soul’ led by an incredible team of highly qualified professionals to Downtown St. Catharines.

Providing a variety of specializations, this well-rounded team sets out to create radical, positive, and lasting change. They have the ability to serve you in 6 languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, Urdu, and Gujarati along with several faith-based therapists on staff.

Julie Christiansen, MA, RP moved to St. Catharines from Ottawa with her husband for work and has since established and built up her business and brand. In addition to her practice, she is a talented speaker, author, coach, and anger & communication expert with many years of experience in the mental health field. Her specialization is in anger, chronic pain, trauma, bullying, and motor vehicle accident recovery.

Julie’s practice began in 2011 in a single room rented out of a church.

Norelis Alverez, BA, RP was the first to join her in 2012. Norelis had immigrated from Venezuela with a background in psychotherapy and while researching what she needed to practice in Canada, she met Julie. They have worked together ever since. 

The practice continued to grow and expand with the addition of Leah Hageman, MA, RP; Stephanie Gorrill, RP-Q; Gulzar Firashta, MA, RSSW, RP-Q; Lenore Walker, BRE, MRE, DTAT; and an adorable therapy dog Pinot that specializes in hugs, snuggles, and overall cuteness. Their amazing administrator, Shari Reimer manages the back office and supports the staff with everything from scheduling, invoicing, and record keeping.

Anyone interested in their services is provided with a complimentary consultation to ensure the practice will be a good fit. They have a sliding fee scale, and special rates for uninsured students and persons on a fixed income.

In addition to traditional therapies, they provide walking therapies, art workshops, master classes and are eager to work with local businesses and community groups to provide lunch and learns.

Their new central location at 63 Ontario Street is easily accessible by public transportation and has free parking on site. 

They are open now, however, they look forward to welcoming you into the warm and inviting space with a Grand Opening that will take place on June 4th, 2023 from 1-3 pm alongside their co-tenants, CORE Health Collective. There will be a DJ, food truck, and more.- so make sure you are following their social channels for updates!!
