Holi Festival brings colour to Downtown St. Catharines

On Saturday, July 16th the inaugural Downtown Dental Centre Holi Festival of Colour welcomed hundreds of participants to celebrate forgiveness and fresh beginnings in the heart of the city!

It was a joy-filled afternoon featuring incredible entertainment from Desi Blaster with DJ GOLDY, Dhol Drums, and dancers performing on the Niagara Artists Centre Papa Tee Show Mobile. A delicious menu offered an authentic taste of India served by Bansaree Authentic Indian Cuisine and later on a fire burned providing a space for spiritual cleansing.

Holi is typically held in India during February/March to mark the end of Winter and the start of Spring. The SCDA worked closely with the Holi Festival of Colour Committee lead by title sponsor Dr. Dimple Sharma of Downtown Dental Centre and took advantage of the warmer weather, choosing to celebrate in July, celebrating a symbolic “spring” with the return of events and gatherings.

A big thank you to the St. Catharines Fire Services who kept everyone cool throughout the event adding to the fun and the day with a refreshing spray.

This awesome day couldn’t have happened without all of the amazing support and participation from our business members, community partners, committees, volunteers, and everyone who came out to enjoy!
