1. CONTEST OUTLINE
The St. Catharines Downtown Association $100 Downtown Gift Card Giveaway (the “Contest”) is sponsored and administered by St. Catharines Downtown Association (the “Sponsor”), located at 80 King St, St. Catharines, ON L2R 7G1.
This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with any social media platform used for promotion.
2. ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is open to legal residents of Ontario, Canada, who have reached the age of majority in Ontario (18 years or older) at the time of entry. Employees, representatives, and immediate family members (spouse, parent, sibling, child) of the St. Catharines Downtown Association and any of its affiliated companies are not eligible to participate.
3. CONTEST PERIOD
The Contest runs until December 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM (ET) (the “Contest Period”).
4. HOW TO ENTER
To enter the Contest, participants must complete the photo scavenger hunt in the Explore Downtown St. Catharines leaflet, and submit their entries directly to the St. Catharines Downtown Association through social media (Instagram) by using the hashtag #.ExploreSTC and tagging @downtownstcatharines.
For an alternative entry (not additional) participants can reach out to info@mydowntown.ca and sign up for the email newsletter for a chance to win. Participants may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with no contest penalty.
No purchase is necessary to enter or win.
Limit one entry per person. Any attempts to enter multiple times using different accounts, emails, or identities will result in disqualification.
5. PRIZE DETAILS
One (1) winner each month will receive a $100 Downtown Gift Card, valued at $100 (CAD) in purchases at participating businesses. The prize is non-transferable, has no redeemable cash value, and cannot be exchanged or substituted for another prize.
6. WINNER SELECTION & NOTIFICATION
A random draw will be conducted on or about the last day of each month during the contest period, from all eligible entries received. The selected entrant will be notified via email, direct message, or phone within 48 hours of the draw. To claim the prize, the selected entrant must:
- Be able to prove that their submitted image is of their own sole ownership (taken by them in compliance with relevant laws and the rest of these terms and conditions).
- Respond within 5 (five) days of notification.
- Sign and return a Declaration of Compliance and Release form if requested.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in disqualification, and an alternate winner may be selected.
7. GENERAL CONDITIONS
- By entering, participants agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions and all decisions made by the Sponsor, which are final.
- The Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest at any time for any reason, including fraud or technical failure.
- The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, or incomplete entries or technical issues that prevent entry.
8. PRIVACY & PUBLICITY RELEASE
By entering, participants consent to the collection and use of their personal information for administering this Contest. The winner agrees to have their entered photography, name and likeness used in promotional materials without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
Any submitted photography that features, directly or indirectly, any illegal, dangerous, or implied illegal or dangerous activities will result in the entrant(s) being disqualified and the images and contact of the entrant(s) being provided to the appropriate authorities.
9. LIABILITY
The Sponsor is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage resulting from participation in the Contest or acceptance of the prize. All photography taken during the contest is taken at the entrant’s own risk. The St. Catharines Downtown Association does not encourage nor condone any trespassing, violation of municipal, provincial, or federal laws, or other risk-taking behaviours that may be associated with harm to the persons participating or those around them.
10. GOVERNING LAW
This Contest is governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in Ontario courts.
