Telling Kitchen Table Tales

October 19 from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pmSt. Catharines Central Library

TELLING: Kitchen Table Tales is a fresh, warm and intimate twist on the traditional author panel. This event brings four trans-disciplinary women writers together around a kitchen table — talking to one another about their books, the stories behind their books, and the personal experiences that shaped their writing. Designed to feel more like being invited into a lively, thoughtful kitchen-table conversation, it promises to be reflective, funny, surprising and deeply human.

A kitchen table is a familiar and powerful symbol. For women in particular, the kitchen table has often been a place of both tasks and dreams — a place where personal stories become shared memory. Audiences can expect a gently guided literary conversation that feels personal, accessible and alive. We invite you to join us for this intimate, distinctive, emotionally resonant, somewhat theatrical hybrid event: part author panel, part conversation, part shared storytelling experience. At its heart, Telling: Kitchen Table Tales is about the power of women telling stories in their own voices.
