After years of slapdash sequels and waning fandom, the Camp Miasma slasher franchise is handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection. But when she visits the original movie’s star, a now-reclusive actress shrouded in mystery, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear, and delirium. 

The Brock University Film Society (BUFS) has been bringing critically acclaimed, award-winning, independent, foreign and Canadian films to St. Catharines since 1975. Hosted screenings once a month on Thursday evenings often feature introductions, short presentations, prize giveaways and other surprises. Kick off the 26/27 BUFS season on Thursday, September 24. 

The Summer Screamers Series brings together brand-new horror and iconic throwbacks in a weekly double feature spread across two nights. Thursday night screens the latest in new horror and finds its match on Friday with a film that riffs on the same ideas, fears, or genre.
