Saturday, October 1st will be a very special day in Downtown St. Catharines with many fun and engaging activities happening around Downtown put on by both our businesses and in partnership with the St. Catharines Downtown Association.

Make sure to stop at our INFO BOOTH (James & St. Paul Street) to pick up a map and schedule from 11am-7pm.

Arts & Crafts

Carousel Players Costume Booth & Creation Station

Angelina the Artist

Project Plant Based is an all ages activity that teaches how art can make an ecological impact. People are welcome to help create seedling paper sculptures, as well as take one to leave in the garden or anywhere in the Niagara peninsula. As the sculpture breaks down, the seeds will grow wild flowers to help feed the local pollinators. Booth also will have a paint-a-pumpkin activity, and paintings for sale.

Femmes du Feu Aerial Acrobatic Performance

We will also be presenting an aerial acrobatic performance by Holly Treddenick of Femme du Feu.

VELO TREV – Mountain Bike Stunt and Circus Performer

Catch this live! Local athlete and Former Cirque du Soleil Trials Bike performer, Trevor Bodogh, will be on site for the event! Each 20 minute act will feature a custom stunt setup, showcasing elite level balance, precision and jump control. Do not try this at home. Kids and family friendly!

Fitness Zone

Introduce yourself to a new or existing fitness class, and sneak in your weekend workout at one of our outdoor FITNESS ZONE classes, featuring Chair Yoga, Bellyfit, Essentrics Stretch & Tone, Zumba and more!  Classes run from 11AM through 5PM.

Walk-in’s may be accommodated but registration is recommended to save your spot!

It’s like bowling! Simply slide the puck down the lane and try to flip all 7 pins to get a strike. Simple and fun.


Monster Blast

Stop the monsters from invading the spooky mansion with Monster Blast! Use the built in dart gun to blast the monsters down.

KIng of the Hill

Become the king of the hill in this game of skill and determination! Roll three balls up the hill to land in one of the five holes. But take note- it’s not as easy as it looks.

The Works St. Catharines presents Blue, Brews & Burgers – a day of special performances by James Clark Jones, Roger Marin, Brant Parker Blues Band & special guest Spencer Mackenzie in support of the RRPC Innovation Foundation. The City of St. Catharines’ Older Adult Centre Art Show and Sale will take place at the Dunlop Drive Older Adult Centre. Browse a selection of art works, prints, and cards available for sale and see the brand new community-initiated art work recently installed on the exterior of the Older Adult Centre. This series of eight paintings tells a story of key landmarks in St. Catharines and the Niagara Region. Artists will be on site to chat about their work.

Join local artists Jana and Michelle for a hands-on mixed media painting workshop. We will experiment with collage, texture, and painting techniques using traditional tools and found objects. Participants will leave with their masterpiece and several new painting techniques to try at home.

Help us Rewrite a Norm Foster Scene!

Help us Rewrite a Foster Scene! Shh…don’t tell Norm. We invite you to join us for a theatre game called Mad Libs! Foster Festival artists will ask audiences to call out a noun, adjective, pronoun, etc., which they will then insert into a Foster scene to “fill in the blanks.” Once all the words are collected, the actors will then perform the scene as newly written by you!

This workshop is based on an ancient art form and practice in India, which is used to enhance positivity. Participants will be able to understand the technique by using simple geometry lines and colourful art in a mindful state. No prior experience required!
