Downtown Kitchen Party

The Downtown Kitchen Party is a welcoming, community-focused evening of live music inspired by both the traditional Irish pub session and the Canadian Maritime kitchen party. Kitchen parties have long been a cherished East Coast tradition, where friends, neighbours, and musicians gather to share songs, tunes, stories, and laughter in an informal setting. We’ve brought that spirit to downtown St. Catharines by combining it with the warmth and hospitality of an Irish pub.

Each Kitchen Party is hosted by Chris Barry of Grass Mud Horse, alongside a different local musician as a special co-host. The evening is designed to be welcoming and inclusive, inviting local performers and audience members alike to become part of the experience.

Whether you’d like to sing a song, play a tune, tell a story or joke, recite a poem, or simply enjoy a pint and the craic, everyone is welcome. The Downtown Kitchen Party celebrates Irish and Maritime traditions while showcasing local talent and fostering a sense of community in the heart of downtown St. Catharines.
