The SCDA is seeking submissions for mural projects at a St. Paul location in the downtown core. Artists are asked to propose work that explores the idea of one (or more) of the following:
- St. Catharines as the Garden City
- Water and the history of the movement of goods via water in downtown
- The history of the Underground Railroad
Size of installation: 8ft (width) by 6 ft (height)
Applicants must submit a budget (to include the cost of materials and installation) short artist statement describing how their work addresses one or more of the suggested themes (maximum 75 words), a short biography of the artist or artists (25 words), and jpeg images of art work that illustrates the concept for the murals and/or jpeg images of past work, particularly any mural work that has been completed. Individual images are to be in colour, no larger than 2MB, and sent via email to email@example.com.
There is no cost to submit. Please include “SCDA mural” in the subject line of the email.
