All City meters have a three-hour maximum daily parking limit from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at a rate of $1.75 per hour (effective January 1, 2020). Metered parking is free outside those hours, except between the hours of 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., where parking is prohibited. Tokens, quarters, loonies and toonies are accepted at City meters and dispenser lots. HST is included in all quoted parking lot and garage fees.
Parking at certain lots and garages is free outside of normal business hours, Monday to Friday and payment options for each parking lot and garage are included in the parking map.
Parking tokens are available for sale from the St. Catharines Downtown Association at 80 King Street (main floor), Monday through Friday between 9:00am and 4:00pm. Tokens come in 40 piece rolls for $10.00 per roll. Please be advised that the sale of parking tokens will end in 2020.
Downtown visitors have the option to pay for parking with a smart phone using the Honk Mobile app at some of the City’s metered parking spots and lots in Downtown St. Catharines. Use the Honk app to search, pay for and top up parking. Honk also send notifications to users when parking is about to expire and allows them to buy more time from their devices.
The Honk app can be downloaded for free on both iOS and Android at www.honkmobile.com or via the App Store or Google Play. Honk app users in St. Catharines are permitted to park for up to three hours in the parking lots surrounding City Hall and Market Square. Metered parking spots are intended for short-term visits and have three-hour limits. Honk users will also pay a 35 cent fee per transaction along with normal parking rates. One hour of parking will cost $2.10 using the parking app. Three hours of parking will cost $5.60.
