About Us

The St. Catharines Downtown Association is a non-profit organization that represents approximately 500 businesses in the BIA (Business Improvement Area) including retail, restaurants and professionals. Membership in the Downtown Association occurs automatically when a business locates within the specific geographic boundaries of the Downtown BIA (Business Improvement Area). See boundary map under the Downtown Business Improvement Area tab.

Who manages the Association?

The Association office is managed by the Association's Board of Management. The Board is comprised of volunteers who are BIA members. The board runs concurrently with City Council and nominations and elections of board members are done at the same time as the municipal elections, unless a board member has resigned and there is a vacant spot to fill in the interim.

What does the Association office do?

The Association office and its staff members implement, facilitate and monitor all the activities of the organization. The Board and its committees determine these activities.

Association staff is comprised of an Executive Director and an Administrative & Communications Coordinator.
